STAYING AT CARAVAN
Our six custom-built tiny houses are located on an urban lot and form a circle around a central gathering space. There is a BBQ, fire pit, Adirondack chairs, ping-pong table (upon request) and lots of funky, locally made metal, stained glass and recycled art. Best of all, we offer all-you-can-eat S'mores with vegan marshmallows, organic graham crackers (including optional Gluten-free graham crackers) and Fair Trade dark and milk chocolate!
Caravan is located right in the heart of the Alberat Arts District, just steps from some of Portland's favorite establishments for foodies, such as the Radio Room, Bye & Bye, the Tin Shed, the Alberta St. Pub and the famous Grilled Cheese Grill. A stone's throw from Caravan's front gate you'll find cafes, pubs, a food co-op, a bike co-op, locally owned shops, galleries, tattoo parlors and more. Sip a cocktail on a rooftop bar, have a vegan, Gluten-free grilled cheese inside a funky school bus, and listen to amazing local music, all within one block of Caravan. And if you are in town on the last Thursday of the month, the infamous Last Thursday art walk is just outside your front door!
Each tiny house is fully stocked with everything you’ll need for a comfortable and cozy stay. Amenities include high quality bedding and linens, handmade quilts, plenty of kitchen supplies, Italian coffee makers and organic coffee, bathroom amenities like Fair Trade shampoo and soap, off-the-beaten path travel books, maps, Portland magazines, local art, and lots of information about tiny houses. Each tiny house comes equipped with a microwave, stove-top burner, refrigerator, a high-end sound machine in case you like to listen to relaxing sounds when you go to sleep, and lots more.

One of the best features of Caravan is its vibrant and lively urban location. The hotel is located adjacent to fantastic bars and restaurants. However, there is occasionally noise generated from adjacent properties until as late 2:00am.
To mitigate neighborhood sounds for light sleepers, we have installed an acoustic sound barrier surrounding the property and we provide earplugs, a fan, and a high-end white noise machine in each tiny house. In addition, all of our tiny houses have well insulated walls.
Potential guests should be aware that Caravan is located in an urban location. Sounds from nearby streets and businesses are conditions of the hotel and are beyond the control of Caravan's staff. If you are a light sleeper, and you anticipate that the earplugs and white noise machine features won’t help you, Caravan may not be the kind of accommodation that will work for you. We can’t offer refunds for noise, but have done our best to provide our guests with the optimal setup for restful nights.
Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times and to comply with Caravan's policies and/or requests with regard to conduct and respect for the property of the hotel, its employees and guests for their health and safety. Guests are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, the smooth running of Caravan, or cause offence to other guests or members of our staff. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove guests and from Caravan if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Where this is the case, Caravan has no obligation to issue refunds for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.
