"We feel right at home here and hope to build our own tiny home someday very soon! We love Kangblue! The decor and design is adorable, from the porch bench to the octagon windows to the blue walls and wood siding, to the incredible crocheted rug. I love it here and wish we could stay more than one night!"

Kangablue is a traditionally designed tiny house. At 170 sq ft., it is currently the biggest tiny house at Caravan. Elegant and roomy, Kangablue sleeps up to 3 people. The lofted sleeping area features a memory foam queen bed that is accessible by ladder. Featuring a sofa bed on the ground level that transforms into an additional single bed, a comfy reading chair and a bamboo kitchen table and chairs, Kangablue is Caravan’s most spacious tiny house and offers guests a variety of places to relax and hang out. Like all of Caravan’s tiny houses, Kangablue has running water, electric heat, a kitchen, flush toilet and a hot shower.
Kangablue was designed and built by Australian born Benn Kovco in 2014, in the Cully neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Benn built the tiny house on weekends and at night over the course of 10 months while working at his full time job. The house features a variety of Pacific Northwest woods, including blue pine, also known as beetle kill pine. Blue pine can be any species of pine tree that acquires a natural blue stain after being infected by the Mountain Pine Beetle. With a nod to the builder’s heritage, his building materials and the fact that this house is as adorable as a baby kangaroo, the name “Kangablue” seems fitting.
GUEST REVIEWS FOR KANGABLUE:
I had a wonderful time staying in the Kangablue tiny house and in Portland. The house was cozy yet roomy and had everything I could ever need. It was even better than a hotel stay! I didn't hang around the tiny house much other than sleeping there, but the ability to do so was great-- could build a fire, do s'mores and just hang out in a comfy, safe environment. What an extremely awesome concept and experience. Thank you!!!

We had a great stay at Kangablue! It was plenty of space-- we loved staying up in the loft and going up the stairs. And one of the best parts was getting to interact with guests- That’s not something you get to do at regular hotels as often!
