"We loved staying in Skyline and never want to leave! The bed is so comfy and this house has an amazing vibe. Thank you for being SO hospitable and letting us experience this amazing place. We will be back!"
-- Alex & Tyler
Built almost entirely from salvaged materials, Skyline is one-of-a-kind, funky and beautiful. Repurposed metal and wood make up much of the interior and exterior. Featuring stained glass, a triangular toilet and metal handrails, this extremely unique tiny house measures 142 sq. ft. and can sleep up to 4 guests. Beside the queen bed on the ground floor, a staircase leads to a second level where a cozy couch transforms into a second queen bed, making Skyline a great option for families or two couples. Like all of Caravan’s tiny houses, Skyline has running water, electric heat, a kitchen, flush toilet and a hot shower.
Skyline’s shed roof, made from recycled refrigerator panels, and high ceiling create a voluminous interior space. The flooring and walls are made from salvaged decking, there is a street sign in the shower, a crow bar used for a door handle, and the stairs to the sleeping loft are repurposed industrial stairs. Skyline feels particularly spacious with the bar stools, upstairs couch and comfy queen bed, all providing comfortable places to hang out.
Skyline was built by Eric Bohne in the driveway of his Portland, Oregon home and was completed in February 2014. Skyline is Eric’s first tiny house on wheels. Eric works full time as metalworker and craftsman, and previously built a house on the Oregon coast constructed from almost entirely from salvaged materials. Eric owns a design/build company, and sells salvage metal at his shop, Metalwood Salvage.
GUEST REVIEWS FOR SKYLINE:
I have to thank the tiny house movement for creating the highlight of my trip to Portland. I rented the Skyline house and was amazed at how unique and functional the 160 sq. ft. space was for the two of us. I liked the lofted sofa/bed area with built-in metal stairs. It gave you a comfortable place to relax other than your bed. I would recommend taking advantage of the FREE s'mores! My mate made us a fire outside in the pit and we had s'mores for my birthday dessert! Loved it! If you head to Portland, don't stand outside the gate and stare in. Rent a tiny house and see what I am talking about for yourself!
